I painted hollyhocks on silk today.
I have bought a Kindle - I used my supermarket vouchers and found a discount on money saving expert so only paid £36 cash. Am very pleased and really enjoying having access to so many free books. I think I had worn our library out!
.
Youngest boy is cooking risotto right now so I had better go and make sure he's doing ok.
Hope to have a bit more time for painting and blogging next week. Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Yes, Deborah, the choice is overwhelming. I had got bored with books but when they are presented on Amazon, with reviews it's so much easier to make a good choice.
DeleteI LOVE your hollyhocks, Betty! So funny, I just got up from applying frisket around hollyhocks that are surrounding those pigs' feet on the picture I started last week. Yours came out so well on the silk fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy that Kindle! And there are so many free books you can access there. Enjoy!
Yahoo for the Kindle! It's fun. I'm ready to get my new glasses because reading on a tablet doesn't suit me as well as reading a real book. I am looking forward to my bright green glasses!
ReplyDeleteYour hollyhocks are lovely, Betty!
Your son is cooking? Yummy! How did his risotto turn out?
I hope you have a sweet summer weekend.
the risotto was very spicy - he used dried chilli seeds but it was very tasty - we like spicy food in our family. Look forward to seeing your bright green glasses!
DeleteI don't know what frisket is, Nancy! Look forward to seeing how it turns out.
DeleteHello Betty - just wanted to say that Hollyhocks are one of my all-time absolutely favourite flowers ever - they remind me of my granny who grew them in her wild garden. Your paintings of them are beautiful - love the colours. Have a lovely weekend - its raining here today, Julie X x :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Julie thanks for your comment. I was little disappointed with the colours to be truthful as some of my inks are quite old and have faded - but it gives a vintage feel I guess. Glad they prompted a happy memory for you.x
ReplyDeleteI love the hollyhocks....the slugs and snails like them too much to grow in our garden but they couldn't eat yours!
