Nearly Finished

Do you remember I showed you my friend Larissa's Russian lacquer soup set and plates? well I was using them as inspiration to make a silk painting for her and have now finished.
In the end I opted for the shapes of strawberries and leaves in the red items and finished up with this:


I also did one a few weeks back inspired by the shapes in her brown and gold patterned collection


Next step is to turn these into little cushions - my first sewing machine project.

To Russia With Love


I thought you might like to see something I am working on for my friend Larissa who is originally from Russia and has kept some very beautiful Russian lacquer family heirlooms.  I want to combine these beautiful patterns with her love of aromatherapy in a painted, scented cushion for her birthday - I
I am trying out a new outliner but didn't like the result of my first attempt, but am not done yet- practice makes perfect and I have until March to complete.
