The potato crop has all gone, sadly the last few had been eaten by wire worms - when we dipped into our bag to bring out the last handful, this sad faced little fellow greeted us, which says it all really.  Hubby said ' I think it's all his fault, he looks miserable and must have turned the others'.

  4. What are wire worms? Yikes! The poor potato, so attacked by enemies. Yes, I guess gardening isn't all "tip toe through the tulips"!

  5. wire worms, Pompom, are little tiny yellow worms that presumably are very strong as they eat my potato, leave their larvae who eat their way out - any I find I donate to the birds on my sacrificial recycling bin lid but I guess a few sneeked in.
