Moneysupermarket Charcoal Challenge

Moneysupermarket.com offered £50 to hold a bbq and I was very lucky to be one of the chosen few.  £50 was plenty to host a bbq for family and friends (12 people in total), not everyone ate at the same time and some ate more than once! so our little event began in the afternoon and ended late into the evening.

Hubby was chef, our bbq is quite old and a bit wobbly but still does the job,  we had loads to eat. Here's our Menu

Chicken tikka fillets -  chicken breasts from Booker £19.99 5 kg
(marinated in Pataks tikka paste and natural yoghurt)
Fresh minced beef burgers with cheese slices in buns - (burgers Tesco - 10 for £4 x 2)
Lazy Beef kebabs!
Quorn Best of British Vegetarian sausages £2.58 (for me)
Beef Sausages Tesco £4 for 10
Lots of salad x Tesco Beetroot ready salad plus baby peppers, red onions, cucumber tomatos
Boiled baby new potatos
Sticky rice - see below for hubby's recipe
Chocolate trifle (Tesco)
fresh fruit (oranges, peaches, grapes, nectarines)
A generous supply of wine, beer and soft drinks
Crisps, doritos

There was plenty to go around and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Ambercat got a tin of tuna and enjoyed watching events from the shed roof.

Thankyou Moneysupermarket.com we had a fabulous bbq with lots of lovely food, sunshine, friends and family.

Easy Sticky Rice Recipe

Use a metal pan with lid that can be transferred to the oven

1 teaspoon tomato puree.
Shape into kebabs and cook with our without skewers
(children liked eating them off the skewers!)

beefburger kebabs, chicken tikka

The following day hubby came for a lovely 2 hour walk through the woods and fields

We still had some supplies left so had another bbq this evening for the four of us!
